Yasukuni Refuses....

The Yasukuni Shrine, the epicenter of the recent conflicts between China and Japan, refuses to separate the 14 Class-A war criminals from the 2.5 million other individuals honored there.

But look at this interesting set of words in the Xinhua news service article.

He has repeatedly made chicaneries saying his visits are aimed at paying tribute to Japan's war dead, not to the Class-A war criminals, and has pledged that Japan will not wage war again.

This is an interesting use of the word chicanery. Are they implying that Koizumi is deceiving people? In what way? So, he is actually going there to only pay tribute to the war criminals or that the pledge of not waging war is the deception? They should not allow the propagandists to add their little bits in what should be hard news. Xinhua cheapens their product, but then again, I am sure that they don't care.
