France's Welcome Of The Dali Lama Angers China....

Of course France keep weighing in on the Tibet issue and their recent hosting of the Dalai Lama adds fuel to the anger that China feels towards France over the incidents surrounding the Olympic torch protests....

China has lambasted Paris over its feting of the Dalai Lama as an honorary citizen of the French capital.

Scant surprise, perhaps, given the Paris city council's provocative support for the man Beijing sees as the guiding hand of dissidence in Tibet. But the balance between sorrow and anger in China provides a measure of the country's current rocky relationship with France, and for now, things are teetering towards anger.

"This act is crude interference in China's domestic affairs and has seriously damaged China-French ties," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said.

Getting angry at France is nothing new. I understand that they are changing the name of 'French Fries' in the Politburo canteen to 'Autocratic Fries.'
