A Big Storm Requires Big Government - NYTimes.com

The shameless New York Times is at it again.....
Disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of “big government,” which is why Mitt Romney wants to eliminate it. At a Republican primary debate last year, Mr. Romney was asked whether emergency management was a function that should be returned to the states. He not only agreed, he went further.
Don't let any crisis go to waste to promote central planning, communism and all of the worthless stuff that big government just is ill equipped to do.

Basically, the argument here is that Washington is better equipped to plow the roads, prepare for local conditions since all disasters are local and be prepared for any eventuality.

The illness that is modern liberalism believes this simple minded argument. The best people that can prepare for disasters are those closest to the potential problems.

I think that the only solution to these kinds of issues is to split the nation in 2; one nation can do all the central planning and redistribution that it wants on a national lever. The other can decide what are national and local responsibilities and stick with this.

Honestly, modern liberalism is a disgusting and horrible philosophy and should be treated along with its promoters with the disdain and revulsion that they both deserve.
