Another Japanese apology....

Actually, if I was Japan, I would apologize once a week for what happened so very long ago. The Japanese, in my humble opinion don't have to apologize at all, but it doesn't really cost anything and their are benefits since the stock market may improve. The Japanese have been a peaceful and generous people to the world since their atrocities and I think it is time to forgive and move on.
Bloomberg story, here.
Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average added 1.2 percent to 11,121.05. Shares of companies that do business in China, such as Shiseido Co., rose after the Japanese government announced that Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi will apologize for the suffering inflicted on neighboring Asian nations in World War II.
Ok, so Japan says that they are going to apologize for World War II. They have apologized in the past
"During a certain period in the not-too-distant past, Japan, following a mistaken national policy, advanced along the road to war, only to ensnare the Japanese people in a fateful crisis, and, through its colonial rule and aggression, caused tremendous damage and suffering to the people of many countries, particularly to those of Asian nations. In the hope that no such mistake be made in the future, I regard, in a spirit of humility, these irrefutable facts of history, and express here once again my feelings of deep remorse and state my heartfelt apology. Allow me also to express my feelings of profound mourning for all victims, both at home and abroad, of that history."

Not theoretically good enough? In fact, this was the stated public apology for Japan's war crimes delivered by Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama. And this was in 1995.
but that has done nothing to ally China's desire to use this as a wedge issue here in Asia. China, particularly the Chinese Communist Party [CCP} needs and wants conflict with its outside neighbors to stoke internal nationalist fervor. Otherwise, the Chinese populace may turn on the sick and corrupt CCP regime itself. And then they may actually have to stop stealing money and govern as if in the modern world not in their feudal dreamland.
