Never Mentioned With The French Riots....
Of course we have heard about the trouble in France being underclass and immigrant status for some populations, but what is never mentioned is that France has one of the highest tax rates in the world. This has stifled growth, moved entry-level labor to other countries and regions and created stifling high unemployment and under-employment. In short, there is little hope for people just starting out particularly immigrants.
Economic woes may-or-may not be part of this eruption, it may be just French malaise in general but I think that the socio-economic model tested by modern Europe is proving to be a failure.
This should be a warning sign for American Democrats that look to Europe for guidance on these things. Democrats have never met a tax that they didn't like so they shouldn't be too sure that to raise those taxes that stifle growth, opportunity and vitality is a snapping good idea. Also, the liberal philosophy of taking care of the under-priviledged? Where is that? The payoffs have not appeared in Europe so what happened to all the investment? It hasn't worked in the USA either.
