A national strike in France? People aren't going to work? Really. How can you tell. The strike cripples business there? Business is crippled every day in France. French rarely work anyway even when they are employed. When you walk down the street, places are rarely open. Everyone stays home with their lights out. Bizarre people they are but good food and wine.
