If the US isn't careful, the nation could face troubles as severe as Japan where government debt is over 200% of GDP. Spending is out of control, the nation is floundering in its innovative business culture and they will never be able to sustain the entitlement nonsense that has been promised to their populace. The idea that government is capable of delivering goods and servies to its populace outside of of their natural functions is a ludicrous idea that will exposed to the silliness that it is.
