Why are liberals and Democrats so afraid of the Tea Party? i think that it is because the fundamentals behind the Tea Party is that it is a grass roots movement towards self reliance, smaller government and less intrusion by government in the people's lives where they do not belong. Returning to a true Constitutional government, where the 9th and 10th amendments are not ignored, threatens the left since it is through the central government that that they get their portfolio of power that they have not earned and do not deserve.

So, they try to brand the Tea Party as racist or some other thought crime instead of actually understanding what the Tea Party is and where the disatisfaction comes from.
