Some much Needed Telecommunication Reform....
A new anti-spam law is being considered for next year that would restrict the use of automated calling and SMS spam in Hong Kong.
I only get several of these a month but they can be both annoying and costly. Receiving the Chinese language SMS isn't that big a deal since it gets deleted fairly quickly. But what is annoying is the recorded messages called to one's cellphone in 100 mile-an-hour Cantonese at all times of the day. During business meetings, while at dinner and also while overseas where roaming charges cost HK$10-15.
