It seems as if several things are truisms here in the Philippines:

1. Life is difficult [Blessed Sacred Heart of the Victim Virgin Mary]
2. You cannot get from point A to point B without hitting really bad traffic.
3. No-one has any money.
4. Everyone has been robbed of their cellphone/schoolfee/life savings within the past week.
