The Awful American Media Coverage Of The Aftermath Of Katrina....

You won't hear too much of what really happened after Katrina hit New Orleans since it doesn't fit the agenda of the American mainstream press.
"Military helicopters played a striking role in this-flying in food and water and flying out evacuees," he said.

The Federal Emergency Management Administration said that 6,500 survivors were rescued by air. Another 2,500 were rescued by boat.

The National Guard evacuated more than 2,000 sick and injured people from New Orleans and flew around 300 missions a day along the Mississippi coast delivering supplies.

Major Tim Doherty, commander of the Georgia National Guard's 148th Air Ambulance, said his unit was flying nonstop from sunup to sundown to evacuate people.
CNN was breathlessly predicting 10-25,000 deaths in New Orleans and running versions of this hyperbole on the running news wire at the bottom of the screen for days. Then they were attempting to inject a racism angle into the reporting in order to further advance their agenda. However, they missed much of the story of ordinary civilians and well prepared military personnel saving lives right after the storm passed.

Shame on all the press and shame on the people that are promoting their spiteful agenda. One of the biggest failures in the post-Katrina environs in Louisiana and Mississippi was the press.

Unfortunately, the press had a bad role in the covering this disaster...
