Religious Freedom Goes Too Far - Yahoo News

I find this kind of thinking to be absolutely disgusting and it is at the core of the modern liberal/progressive/Democrat thinking. The writer equates the government forcing companies to offer certain types of abortion services to the fight for civil rights for black folks back in the 1950s and 60s. And he cites some evidence that some argued for Jim Crow laws and discrimination as being biblically motivated. this illustration is dishonest.

Yes, some have used religion not just in discrimination in the deep south but also in history to forward political political positions and engage in hegemony against their neighbors. But this was obviously not a legitimate use of faith but deceitful, as religion does not preach this. We all know that discrimination in the deep south did not flow from religious beliefs since they were not the same in other parts of the country or in other nations. So medacious arguments that Christianity support discrimination against Blacks was not taken seriously by others at the time.

However, central to some people's faith is the sanctity of human life and the discourse has been clear for decades that many folks DO NOT want to be complicit in the support of abortion just as I do not want to be complicit in abortion and the state's execution of prisoners. This is a core principle and it is was not dreamed up to fight against government forcing employers to provide these abortion services to their employees. For a writer like this to argue otherwise is misleading, deceitful and frankly appalling. But this is what we have come to expect from these kinds of people that think that all authority flows from government.

When government intervenes and determines what kind of contract one can have between employer and employee, then the government is overstepping its legitimate authority. Many have accepted this, and I think that they are wrong and government, as envisioned and designed in the US, does not have this authority. However, government when 'given and inch will take a mile' and it thinks that it has the authority to force people to engage in practices that these individuals deem to be against the core values of their faith, then government risks unraveling any authority and this is what is at stake for me.

It is government that has gone too far and not religious freedom that has gone too far.

I have very little respect for people like this writer that use tired civil rights arguments to try to crush liberty , force their beliefs down our throats and it is the progressive enforcers such as this that we have to watch out for as we move further towards the US authoritarian state.

FOR THE LAST 10 DAYS, GLOBAL MEDIA OUTLETS HAVE BEEN REPORTING ON THE MISSING MALAYSIAN PLANE WITH ALL THE SAME FACTS AND CREDIBILITY OF THE NORAD SANTA CLAUS TRACKER.

A warning to Americans from France....

The welfare state, like Obamacare and an exploding welfare state that these become unsustainable. Additionally, as French PM Hollande has stated that 'he hates rich people' this coarseness is fast becoming a part of the US discussion. Demonize the people that have earned something in order to justify taking away the product of their labor and abilities.

Watch out for an Iranian nuclear bomb being delivered by this hijacked 777???

But why would they do that since they already have planes? Or a terrorist group that creates a flying bomb? Israel better be prepared. Assuming, of course, that a hijack is actually what happened and that the plane did not get ditched in the Indian Ocean. The plane went to 45,000 feet and thin air would have incapacitated or killed the passengers. Mathematically, it would be somewhat easy to figure out where this plane could be, satellites probably 'saw' these this Saturday night. I will go out on a limb and guess that the plane will probably 'found' in the next 48 hours. If it is on the ground, military assault is being planned to get it back.

Global Debt Exceeds $100 Trillion as Governments Binge, BIS Says - Bloomberg

The amount of debt globally has soared more than 40 percent to $100 trillion since the first signs of the financial crisis as governments borrowed to pull their economies out of recession and companies took advantage of record low interest rates, according to the Bank for International Settlements.
Debt could be rising faster than GDP but I do not know that for sure. But if GDP is growing at 3% annually, then we are getting gorwth of around 60% of the amount of debt being created. This is clearly not sustainable and I suspect that it will end relatively quickly.

Russia, Ukraine, Poland and 2 Timely New Saints

If the WaPo believes Obama has been living in a fantasy world, well, he seems to still be there — how else does he believe he can simultaneously cut our military back to pre-WWII levels while “squeezing Russia”, diplomatically, as though diplomacy has been his strong point, or something.
Our president is man who's intelligence has never been questioned due to the color of his skin. Now it is too late. People have said to me not too worry since 1 president won't destroy America but it is only a hope.

Come on. It is all okay. The President will give a speech and deploy drones and everything will be fine again.
