Japans’s Scary Lesson on Slashing Interest Rates - Bloomberg

This comment is just plain ol' common sense....
If Japan has taught us anything, it’s that slashing rates to zero and beyond is a lot easier than returning them to normalcy. Japan is on its sixth central-bank governor since its bubble burst in 1990, and like his predecessors, Haruhiko Kuroda is doubling down on quantitative easing. Why? Politicians, bankers, investors and businesspeople alike get addicted to free money all too easily and clamor for more.
Taking the easy road is always the government's prefered path. Need more taxes? Don't tax the people just tax a small sliver of people. Need to employ people? Don't do it through organic growth but through employing folks in pie-in-the-sky green jobs or even easier just write them monthly checks.

But getting back to monetary policy, the supposed path of least pain has been the Central Bank's 5 years of easy money. However, it has not worked and it will end up burying the nation like any other of the governments idiotic central planning market interventions. Best of luck. It won't be pretty.

PJ Lifestyle » MJ Rosenberg Calls for Public Execution of Republicans and Matt Drudge

The typical and always excusable violence fantasies (that eventually will become reality) against Conservatives and those that do not kowtow to the dogma of the hard left. I have heard all kinds of reasons as to why violence against conservatives is acceptable, generally explained as a reaction to fear, even from those that are supposedly for peace.

Roger L. Simon » Boston: It’s About Islam, David Sirota

What a shock. The Boston Marathon killers are Muslim. No shock to me but to the frothing-at-the-mouth rainbow coalition leftist Democrats, its a gigantic disappointment that the murderers are not Tea Party people, gun rights advocates, anti-tax conservatives and white. Actually, these folks are white from Caucus region where the descriptive word Caucasian comes from. But frothing-at-the-mouth liberals by hoping beyond hope that the suspects would be part of a group or ethnicity that could be used by them to bludgeon their ideology through a compliant Washington, has failed miserably.

Homebuilders Dumping Term 'Master Bedroom' For Supposed Racism, Sexism

This is just how stupid the United States has become. We are now a nation of dweebs and sissies that have to find fault in everything and those that seek to control thoughts through making language off limits......
Homebuilders in Washington D.C. have been dropping the phrase “master suite” from their language thanks to its supposed implications of racism and sexism. The word “master” has been used in other contexts to describe slaveowners and dominant male figures in relationships. That means, of course, that it must never be used again. So homebuilders are now beginning to call master suites “owner’s suites.” Steve Nardella, senior vice president of Winchester Homes in Maryland, explains: “I imagine it’s not only a more accurate description but also a more politically correct term of art.” Of course, it is only a matter of time before the left begins complaining that “owner” implies both “slaveowner” and “owner of your spouse.” Eventually, we will simply list “master bedrooms” as “the big ones in the back of the house.”
Hahaha.

Could Hillary Clinton Be America’s Thatcher? - Bloomberg

Want to read something idiotic? Read this piece. Just to let you know, Clinton is no Thatcher.
“If you just set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.”

-Margaret Thatcher-
Why anyone would stain Thatcher's name with comparing Clinto with her is doing a disservice to everyone involved. The Clintons are political chameleons. And the article basically indirectly says the same thing.

Baucus warns of 'huge train wreck' enacting ObamaCare provisions - The Hill's Healthwatch

What could go wrong with central planning? Can one think if the great central planning experiments of the past and present. Soviet Union 1917-1989. Eastern Europe 1945-1989, North Korea 1955-present, China 1949-1982. Each and every one of these periods of central economic planning experienced depressed economics and much lower standards of living coupled with the the loss of individual liberty. What could possibly go wrong?

The American Spectator : Sowell, Race Hustlers, and David Hume

The cost of multiculturalism for the 'cultures' that are supposed to be benefiting is high. In my opinion, it results in laziness and is an excuse for failure. Thomas Sowell, an American treasure, has this to say about the 'race industry'...
One of the things that happens with organizations over a span of time, they’ll start out with a good purpose and over time evolve into self-serving organizations with negative consequences. The Race Industry tends to promote solutions that enhance the power of those in the Race Industry, regardless of whether the policies help the people the Race Industry claims to speak for. In some cases those solutions may actually be counterproductive, such as affirmative action.
Sowell points out that throughout human history, knowledge is produced in certain languages, such as English and German. Even those from other language cultures, such Czech or Gaelic in order to learn this material, had to gain abilities in these languages in order to succeed and they succeeded when they adopted this. However, the multiculturalist and race hustlers give equal value to Ebonics and street languages as they do do proper English. It is shackle for folks to buy into this nonsense.

The American Spectator : Sowell, Race Hustlers, and David Hume

thought of the day....

Hume also believed in an unequal distribution of property, because perfect equality would destroy the ideas of thrift and industry. Perfect equality would thus lead to impoverishment. So very true. The world of redistributionist leftists today will rip our world apart.

The MSM’s disgraceful silence about the Gosnell trial | Power Line

Democrats are immoral when it comes to abortion. But as in this piece, the American press, that has traded journalism for advocacy is worse than worthless in their service of the American public. The American press has become the water-boys for Democrats and there is no surprise here that this tragedy is being ignored and covered up.

This being said, the murder of viable children is abhorrent and is stain on all humanity. We should all be ashamed.

KIRSTEN POWERS ON TODAY’S POLITICIZED JOURNALISM: Philadelphia abortion clinic horror: We’ve forgotten what belongs on Page One. “Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven’t heard about these sickening accusations? It’s not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell’s former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart. . . . ‘Chaos’ isn’t really the story here. Butchering babies that were already born and were older than the state’s 24-week limit for abortions is the story.”

Doesn’t fit the narrative. I’m pro-choice, but that doesn’t excuse this sort of thing.
I never will be pro-choice and I never have have any respect for those that are.

Guest Post: Economy In Pictures: Have We Seen The Peak? | Zero Hedge

Due to the feckless actions if our central government, our next downturn will risk the lives of millions and will be the most painful one in all of American history. Until we defund the interventions of the central planing state machine, we will risk destitution.

Althouse: Obama: "I am constrained... by a system that our Founders put in place."

Modern liberalism in a nutshell....
That's the constitutional argument he has in mind. It's an idea of constitutional government as a political system, within which rights are only another manifestation of what the people want. And, in the ultimate scary twist on the idea of rights: Government is not to be regarded as in need of limits, because the government is us. Anything we — the government — want to do is never tyranny, but freedom.
What we have here is a profoundly stupid man that has profoundly idiotic ideas. The concept of government as envisioned by the Obamessiah is exactly what the founding fathers wanted and designed the nation to avoid and this is majority rule and centralized decision making. At that time, although communism was not created yet but central planning was well known, these great thinkers and philosophers strived to avoid this quagmire but now Americans seek exactly that. It will only mean that the nation as originally founded, designed and run is dead and we are becoming nothing but another feckless Euro-state. So sad.

Japan's upcoming finacial crisis....

This why Japan will default, followed by Spain, Italy and then ultimately the United States. It will be 20 years of the dark ages for for the world, but if we take our medicine now and allow true markets to allocate productive capital instead of feckless governments, the pain will be less and the transition time shorter.

The scourge of DHMO

Be careful people, there is something coming out of water taps that people should be aware of. Dihydrogen monoxide, AKA DHMO, is colorless and odorless and who knows what kinds of effects that this kind of chemical has on those that consume it.

The Keynesian Endgame - David Stockman - Mises Daily

The breakdown of sound money has now finally generated a cruel endgame. The fiscal and central banking branches of the state have endlessly bludgeoned the free market, eviscerating its capacity to generate wealth and growth. This growing economic failure, in turn, generates political demands for state action to stimulate recovery and jobs.

But the machinery of the state has been hijacked by the various Keynesian doctrines of demand stimulus, tax cutting, and money printing. These are all variations of buy now and pay later—a dangerous maneuver when the state has run out of balance sheet runway in both its fiscal and monetary branches. Nevertheless, these futile stimulus actions are demanded and promoted by the crony capitalist lobbies which slipstream on whatever dispensations as can be mustered. At the end of the day, the state labors mightily, yet only produces recovery for the 1 percent.
We are probably finally getting to the end of the 80 year American experiment in American socialism. The nation is struggling and with a massive burden of debt, the ship will eventually sink. But all is not lost, the massive failure of central planning and Marxism will be a painful lesson for folks and with the cathartic elimination of all knowing and all powerful central government, the people of the nation can finally get back to doing what they do best, creating and living their lives in how they see fit.
