Congressional Budget Office - Federal Debt and the Risk of a Fiscal Crisis

Make no mistake about it, a fiscal crisis is in store for the US in the very near future. And it will be totally devestating.

Jim Rogers predicts a new recession in 2012 - Telegraph

Basically, Rogers says that there is a recesssion every 4-6 years. So given that there was one in 2008, that we are due another one starting in 2012. Since central banks and governments around the world have continued the wild spending and monetary spree, these same governments and central banks no longer have these tools in their arsenal.

In addition, Shiller, of the Case-Shiller home index says....
"For me a double-dip is another recession before we've healed from this recession. The probability of that kind of double-dip is more than 50pc. I actually expect it," he said. His prediction came despite the S&P/Case-Shiller index for May showing a 4.6pc year-on-year increase in house prices in 20 major US urban areas (sic)."
Maybe, this will be the final death for government sponsored socialism since they will no longer be able to afford to continue these wasteful and sometimes worthless programs.

Sarah Palin....

Democrat, Independent, or Republican....the second half of this email should make all of us very sick, send this on .....especially the second half......

By Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman.

As posted in comments on Greta's article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin.

The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska . I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la" (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2. Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85% of the m and placed them in the "when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant.

Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning - I imagine - that she's packing heat herself). I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4. Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5. For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. Then, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewable by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up. I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents' wives.

So "You go, Girl." I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.

I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media.

One wonders why she needs so much help,at taxpayer expense, when even Hillary, only had three; Jackie Kennedy one ; Laura Bush one ; and prior to Mamie Eisenhower social help came from the President's own pocket.

Note: This does not include makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Miles, 49, and "First Hairstylist" Johnny Wright, 31, both of whom traveled aboard Air Force One to Europe.

Townhall - Thomas Sowell - Race Card Fraud - Full Article

There is not now, nor has there ever been, anything post-racial about Barack Obama, except for the people who voted for him in the mistaken belief that he shared their desire to be post-racial. When he leaves office, especially if it is after one term, he will leave this country more racially polarized than before.

Hopefully, he may also leave the voters wiser, though sadder, after they learn from painful experience that you can't judge politicians by their rhetoric, or ignore their past because of your hopes for the future. Voters may even wise up to race card fraud.

Keynes vs. Hayek: The Great Debate Continues | Gerald P. O'Driscoll Jr. | Cato Institute: Commentary

As national governments have over the past many decades moved inexorably towards greater-and-greater Keysian government spending, one has to think back to other thoughts that maybe these programs just do not work. I do not view this as a great debate but as a necessary attack on misguided central government spending programs that have hijacked almost every wealthy nation.

Hot Air » Obama underwater in Carville poll?

The money quote from this article....
"In other words, 55 percent of likely voters think “socialist” is a
reasonably accurate way of describing Obama."
It is no surprise to me that a majority of people think that the Obamessiah is a socialist and that is because HE IS A SOCIALIST!!!!! I knew this from day one. But not only is the Narcissist-in-Chief a socialist but he is also a profound empty suit.

Campaign For Liberty — The Disaster of Government-Run Businesses   | by Jim Powell

This piece is a great idictment of the economic falure of socialism.

Government run businesses, whether they be companies that were nationalized or started due to the fantasy that they would be more efficient, more effective and/or more just, has been failures at achieving the goals that were initially set for these ventures. These companies have been nearly universally plagued by higher costs, lower efficiency and a need for taxpayer subsidies well beyond the economic value that these companies were supposed to generate.

One needs to consider that if one thinks that these government ventures are actually meeting some of these goals, then why not nationalize all businesses. What is the objective measure that meets the test that a government either needs to run a business or control it through regulation by law? I have yet to see these objective measures.

I am a white racist?

So what the heck is this guy all about? He can spew his nonsense publicly on the streets of Philadelphia and advocate the killing of whites and white babies? This is free speech? Would the press or normal people tolerate a KKK member doing this in a public place? If he can say these things in this venue, then others can also behave this way. Its better that way.

Common sense kidnapped......

In the universe inhabited by the current American presidential administration of Axelrod, using the Obamessiah as cover, they are now employing Newspeak as they have now deemed that there is no such thing as frothing at the mouth crazed Muslims (that's oldspeak of my ilk). What we have now are top officials as apologists for violent religious extremists. As explained by Charles Krauthammer....
Instead, President Obama's National Security Strategy insists on calling the enemy -- how else do you define those seeking your destruction? -- "a loose network of violent extremists." But this is utterly meaningless. This is not an anger-management therapy group gone rogue. These are people professing a powerful ideology rooted in a radical interpretation of Islam, in whose name they propagandize, proselytize, terrorize and kill.
From here. SPEAK NO EVIL. Instead, the US now has national security based on mealy mouth word parsing, political correctness that has gone viral and infected even those aspects of American lives that needs to be focused and dealt with seriously.

So this is how the spineless Obamessiah administration is seeking out a painless route of non-conflict as if to think that by not speaking the names, they will never have to face the troubles. So maybe, firstly, the thinking goes, that if they rename the trouble then maybe it will mystically vanish. However, one fundamental problem exists for this juvenile path in that by renaming it, is that they secondly are then forced to go even further by denying that Islamic fanaticism is even a primary cause for the violent outbursts that we have seen by these people. We are engaging in an advanced state of denial that is both mystifying in its attempt at dodging a problem that has to be faced head on and problematic in that by not facing the problem, we will be unable to aggressively deal with it. As Krauthammer further laments where the American government invests in the notion that Islam is not even a contributing factor to this violence he has this to say on SPEAK NO EVIL.....
Of course it is. Indeed, Islamist fundamentalism is not only a risk factor. It is the risk factor, the common denominator linking all the great terror attacks of this century -- from 9/11 to Mumbai, from Fort Hood to Times Square, from London to Madrid to Bali. The attackers varied in nationality, education, age, social class, native tongue and race. The one thing that united them was the jihadist vision in whose name they acted.
And even as we deny that there is even a problem despite continuing violent attacks we will eventually have to also SEE NO EVIL. This will be manifested as the nation will be forced to paper over problems. How,with a free press this will be achieved remains to be seen. But the hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil monkeys are alive and well in Washington.

John Birch Society....

This video from the founder of the John Birch Society hits some relevant chords with me. Some may find that unfortunate since the JBS has some racist and prejudicial positions. Despite this, some of the positions are worthy of consideration.....
