A Big Storm Requires Big Government - NYTimes.com

The shameless New York Times is at it again.....
Disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of “big government,” which is why Mitt Romney wants to eliminate it. At a Republican primary debate last year, Mr. Romney was asked whether emergency management was a function that should be returned to the states. He not only agreed, he went further.
Don't let any crisis go to waste to promote central planning, communism and all of the worthless stuff that big government just is ill equipped to do.

Basically, the argument here is that Washington is better equipped to plow the roads, prepare for local conditions since all disasters are local and be prepared for any eventuality.

The illness that is modern liberalism believes this simple minded argument. The best people that can prepare for disasters are those closest to the potential problems.

I think that the only solution to these kinds of issues is to split the nation in 2; one nation can do all the central planning and redistribution that it wants on a national lever. The other can decide what are national and local responsibilities and stick with this.

Honestly, modern liberalism is a disgusting and horrible philosophy and should be treated along with its promoters with the disdain and revulsion that they both deserve.

The mouthpiece newspaper of China’s Communist Party has launched a blistering attack on The New York Times, accusing it of “faking” and “distorting” news and being a government “propaganda tool”.

If my nose were full of nickles...

If my nose were full of nickles, I'd blow it all on you.

Dereliction of duty....

I was wondering why we have had our folks on the ground, in a hostile environment in Libya without proper military protection in the first place, particularity on Sept 11th. In addition, when these folks get attacked by terrorists, don't we go in extract or protect them?
You don’t just passively allow Americans to remain under attack for eight hours at a time when you have forces within range and do nothing.
From Here. If it is a dereliction of duty by the Obamessiah, why did it happen? We have all of these folks around the world prepared to intervene in these situations but did nothing? In the military that I know, the wheels would have started turning right away and the only way to stop it is to order them to stand down. Its still a mystery isn't it? Did the Obamessiah order them stand down? The CIA has already preemptively stated that it was not the one to order to stand down. So was it the DoD or the Obamessiah? And if so, why?

Earn your Trident every day… « ScottOnCapeCod's Weblog

Even though the Obamessiah inexplicably let Glen Dougherty and Tyrone Woods die in battle without allowing for reinforcements or support from a military that was clearly able and willing to, they took out 60 enemy combatants prior to their being killed. Amazing.

Who decided not to save Tyrone Woods? | Power Line

There is only 1 reason why the current administration would not have taken normal actions to protect Americans under attack. I think that it is that there was a political calculation. An action would have been splashed all over the headlines particularly if there was a failure in that process whereas by allowing the attack to proceed and killing Americans allowed for the President to invoke plausible deniability which was thought to shield the Obamessiah from responsibility. However, this forced the government to delay, hide and lie about information regarding this situation and this coverup looks more-and-more as if they are losing their grip on this.

I hope that the Democrats think that this is a worthwhile use of lives.

Come on. WE have been told for years now that higher taxes should be great for the economy. There is just no way that this is wrong?

Top China delegate pulls out of IMF meet amid islands row - Yahoo! News

China and its leadership is just so juvenile when it comes to dealing with the rest of the world. It would be laughable if it wasn't so serious since ultimately China could prove to be whacked out like the dangerous North Korea. What are these people thinking when they do stupid stuff like this? But, regulators around the globe and particularly in China's banking system, by definition, cannot be taken seriously and are not human beings that should be believed or trusted anyway.

IMF Sees European Banks Facing $4.5 Trillion Sell-Off - Bloomberg

2008 all over again, European style. I am sure that it is all the fault of George W. Bush and the end result of how lax he was regulation. This will not end well at all. Governments will fail and fall.

The Three Toughest Questions For China Bulls | ZeroHedge

"Panics do not destroy capital; they merely reveal the extent to which it has been previously destroyed by its betrayal into hopelessly unproductive works."

-John Stuart Mill-
China is facing unprecedented problems as decades of central planning misappropriated investment into government favored areas. This is similar to what happened in the USA where government policy promoting home-ownership created over investment in this consumer durable and ultimately led to an economic disaster. The falling prices were not the actual problem, falling prices was just the process in recognizing that previous mal-investment.

China too will ultimately face the costs of misappropriating investments and this will create a serious financial calamity.

Quote of the day.........

“If I were American, I’d vote for Obama,” Mr Chavez said in a televised interview that aired Sunday.

The Venezuelan leader called Obama “a good guy” and said if the US president were a Venezuelan, “I think … he’d vote for Chavez.”
There is no doubt in my mind that this is absolutely true.

The original great depression was a product of over reaching government and poor central planning. This depression is also government's fault...o.

One day, hopefully people will realize that central planning (communism) never ever works.
