In the United States, those claims and policies have reached new heights, epitomized by government takeovers of whole sectors of the economy and unprecedented intrusions into the lives of Americans, of which Obamacare has been only the most obvious example.

It amazes me that as our nation stumbles blindly deeper into central government socialism and central planning that more people are not horrified. But what i think that is going on is that the folks have capitulated and are now hunkering down for the upcoming bad times.

Big government is and will continue to destroy not just the fabric of the nation, the things that made the nation great, but also destroy the normal human condition. Strange central government programs, as this article points out, punish some arbitrarily and will force some to make changes that they would not normally do.

But we as citizens and not subjects, have not just the right but also the responsibility to resist what is being forced upon us. Some will do it it using non-violent methods. Why would journalists meet with politicians off-the-record? There is no reasons at all for politicians to request meetings off-the-record and for journalists to agree to that. Journalism in the US is dead and they are nothing but a mouthpiece of the Democratic party to parrot what these people want the folks to hear and know. I cannot take journalist seriously. do not trust them and they have abrogated their responsibility to serve the people.

As you can see from the presentation, it was reasonable to assume that regime change in Iraq2 was necessary for the long-term health of the Middle East and this should also drive policy when it comes to Syria too. Aggressive actions to force regime change upon Syria is probably the right course of action.

Such overburdened economic orders eventually die a slow death as their vital arteries of innovation and private investment become clogged by subsidies, taxes, regulations, direct state involvement, and other anti-productive buildups. The system then must endure not simply the frustrations and relative impoverishment of a succession of (often only temporary) losers in the process of creative destruction, but the frustration and absolute impoverishment of everyone except perhaps a fortunate few who benefit from the state’s channeling loot to them.

Socialism, as implemented in the US and previously in Europe will eventually impoverish the people that it was intended on serving. The simple reason it will fail is government and central planning are dumb ideas that have no place in the modern world. So when the urge arises to perform an act of utopian wealth redistribution or to bureaucratically tie up a legitimate business in stupid and worthless regulations, just keep this thought in mind...

It is a sorrowful reality that for the past century or more, people in the West have for the most part turned increasingly away from the economic system whose creativity redeems it and embraced instead systems whose hallmarks are economic irrationality, resource waste, bureaucratic tyranny, and ultimately mass impoverishment.
