UCLA Study....

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire.

David Mamet: Why I Am No Longer a 'Brain-Dead Liberal'

In the Village Voice, David Mamet: Why I Am No Longer a 'Brain-Dead Liberal'

The Morons That Run China....

The morons that run China have basically shut down the internet so that there is no information on what is going on in Tibet avaiable to the population in general. Of course the rest of the world knows that bad things are going on there and are probably assuming the worst. Additionally, Wen has accused the Dali Lama of being behind the unrest. Really what is behind the unrest is that Tibetans are 3rd class citizens, the 2nd class citizens are the regular Chinese and the first class are the Chinese Communists and insdiers that get most of the economic benefits and goodies avaiable to the well connected.

As we head into the Beijing Olympics this summer, expect further unrest and also condemnation from the world of China on their dismal human rights. AS I read to day, here....
At the Olympics, the Maoists will be dealing with free people from free nations, and there is only so much they can do to control them. It's not clear they understand this. They've been living for decades in a bubble of unchallenged power, and are not very imaginative. The opportunities for embarrassment are endless, and the prospect of it very delicious to anyone who loves liberty. Personally, I hope their stinking Olympics is a huge fiasco, and I see encouraging signs it may be.
Well, we will see if this even registers in the US. Bush and his Dad have always been friends with the commies in the PRC and have choosen to engage rather than withdraw. Europeans, though, look at China as a big market of their products and lets see what becomes of any protest offered by nihilisitc Europeans.

Stupid China....

Yesterday, while I was in China, I could do almost nothing with my computer since many websites were blocked or slowed to a crawl. I could not access Yahoo at all and could not check emails. Any news site with the word Tibet on it was blocked. I went to Bloomberg, and there was a story on Tibet but when one clicked on it, the screen went 404.

The people that run China are total clowns and complete buffoons. Who are they protecting and what is the point of this kind of behavior. When Wen gave his idiotic press conference today attacking the Dali Lama, why would anyone but a complete fool even bother to listen to his words?

Obama Taking Bold Steps....

After the attack from Clinton surrogates accusing him of being a Muslim as indicated by his Muslim middle name, Hussein, and the more recent controversy surrounding his affiliation with a Black church that appears to be in the confrontational and racial mold as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton typify, Obama is trying to put these problems behind him by converting to Judism....
"I am converting to Judaism, effective immediately," Mr. Obama told reporters at a press conference in Scarsdale, New York, adding that he would change his middle name from "Hussein" to "Murray."

Buzz up!on Yahoo! As a sign of commitment to his new faith, the Illinois Senator said that he anticipated being Bar Mitzvahed sometime between now and the crucial Pennsylvania primary and that he would no longer campaign on Saturdays.
Is Obama collapsing like the 5th largest US investment bank, Bear Stearns did the past few days? Bear Stearns and other investment banks, that trade securities and typically hold many of them for their own account as inventory for sale and for profit, collapsed after market participants were no longer willing to fund these unknown positions. Its no secret that these securities cannot be sold, sometimes at any price and the investment bank had to seized by the Federal Reserve to effect an orderly unwinding of positions.

So is Obama now going through a crisis of confidence with the electorate? So many had hope for this man and his promise of "change" despite this being as nebulous a portfolio of promises and of little value to a country that needs solid decisive leadership.

Too bad too. It appeared as if this fellow verged on transcending the incendiary topic of race as Tiger Woods has since the later focused on his golf and not his mixed racial background as being the important to himself and his fans. The problem with the angry Black populace in the US is that they have been unable to put things behind them and get on with living life. Their failures are blamed on others and responsibility is a idea that is only vapors supported by spineless liberals. Good luck, I actually like the guy but would never vote for a what i think is a socialist.

Iran's Elliot Spitzer....

So maybe the Iranians are more like us than we thought...
General Reza Zarei, Tehran’s chief of police and a member of the Revolutionary Guard, has resigned under a cloud of scandal after he was caught and arrested naked, with no fewer than six nude women, during a government raid on a brothel.
In defense of this, the people caught nude claimed that they were praying. I wonder if any one of them had been calling out... OH GOD, OH GOD, OH GOD when they were praying so 'close together'.

Teeing Up The Ball.....

Of course, since American Blacks identify with presidential candidate, Barak Obama, and that Obama, oddly enough is a mulatto, is considered a Black candidate, the inevitable "race card" gets thrown on the table. The latest salvo surrounds a Harvard professor's claim that the 3am telephone ringing ad by Hilary Clinton's campaign underlying message is racist[scroll down]. It is not at all surprising that race is being injected by such people, since its a potent weapon to claim racism from these so called 'experts.'

The following is the actual ad with some other material stripped in including Barak Obama's response ad at the end....

Judge for yourself if it is even remotely racist. I cannot see it, maybe because I am white, but I do think that some people can see racism in almost anything. So why is this is the first salvo in teeing up racism as a potent campaign weapon? Since essentially, a campaign will be able to roll these people in front of the salivating press claiming racism in any attempt to differentiate a candidate.

So what did this fellow Patterson say about the ad?
PATTERSON: I have spent my life studying the pictures and symbols of racism and slavery, and when I saw the Clinton ad's central image—innocent sleeping children and a mother in the middle of the night at risk of mortal danger—it brought to my mind scenes from the past. I couldn't help but think of D. W. Griffith's ''Birth of a Nation,'' the racist movie epic that helped revive the Ku Klux Klan, with its portrayal of black men lurking in the bushes around white society. The danger implicit in the phone ad—as I see it—is that the person answering the phone might be a black man, someone who could not be trusted to protect us from this threat.

The ad could easily have removed its racist sub-message by including images of a black child, mother or father—or by stating that the danger was external terrorism. Instead, the child on whom the camera first focuses is blond. Two other sleeping children, presumably in another bed, are not blond, but they are dimly lighted, leaving them ambiguous. Still it is obvious that they are not black—both, in fact, seem vaguely Latino.
This is just silliness. These clowns that try to inject racism into everything and every body do no one any good. Blacks in the bushes outside. Bullshit. Its Arabs and Muslims that are causing trouble and they too will kill you, if they have the opportunity, whether you are white or black.

In fact, I think that that racism and other human identity metrics is normal and is something that we will always be facing. Whites are different than Blacks are different than Chinese. People in one neighborhood or state are different than people in another state. Southerners watch NASCAR. Northeasterners whine constantly. They are very different. So what. Of course it is wrong to consider one's race or other metrics in an economic or or other transaction such as a hiring decision. And many people have been guilty of this for a long time. But how stupid is it to reject a candidate for job if they are qualified and settle for a less qualified candidate due to color and not ability? Who is the stupid one? Like why did milquetoast Maryland Democrat Cardin beat Michael Steele, Republican black man for the Sarbanes open Senate seat in the last election? In my mind, Michael Steele was clearly the better candidate. Once, a fellow claimed that he was less racist than me since he he, a white fellow like me, married a black woman. Since I am married to a Chinese lady, this fellow must think that there are some kind of varying degrees of race and that Chinese must be closer on some metric to whites than blacks are. It mystifies me.

Imagine if the presidential contest is a race between McCain and Obama. And lets say that McCain accuses Obama to be a high tax candidate, something that may resonate with some voters. Well, in this case, the Obamaniacs can wheel in some 'expert' to bludgeon the electorate by claiming that that is a racist position, essentially transforming the disagreement into racism and away from the actual debate. It would be quite easy for a candidate to play this card over-and-over for those issues in which are a loser for a empty suit candidate like Obama

Guys like Patterson with this type of idiotic behavior do no good for anyone except for their own narrow needs. Without racism, these clowns wouldn't have a job as these so called 'experts' in these fields and can be expected to distill race out of nearly anything.

And even Democrat NYT columist Paul Krugman has been under attack for some of his material...
One measure of how crazy people on at least one side of the Democratic nomination struggle have become: I’ve gotten a number of complaints that the end of my last — entirely non-political — column, “hope is not a plan,” was a swipe at Obama.

Um, guys, it’s a phrase military types use; I started using it a lot when Iraq went pear-shaped. In fact, if you Google it, the first entry that comes up is a book about the Iraq war.

I’m sorry to say that a large part of the progressive movement seems to have lost its sanity.
I have to say, so far, these troubles have not happened to nicer people. Attacks against Democrats for daring to debate a Black? Horrors. Its seems as if people are saying "You cannot debate a Black." Blacks won't get anywhere in national politics until everyone is able to debate without being called a racist. And to attack this fellow Krugman as a racist is just silly. Its silly since he too has played the race card such as in this opinion piece...
Look, Southerners are racists. Starting with Reagan and his "southern strategy" in 1980, Republicans have been quite successful in winning elections. Now, don't get me wrong, Reagan was probably too stupid to tell people apart. I'm just saying that without gains in the South, none of those victories would have been possible. It's simple logic: If Southerners are racists and they elect Republicans, then Republicans win because of racists. Do we really want a bunch of racists running the country?
Its silly season. Who are the real racists?

Even More Ammunition For You Class Warfare.... Democrats...

Newspapers, that carry the Democrat's water, typically write headlines that parrot these economic socialist's "Two Americas" talking points and write about income inequality and the decline of the middle class. These spurious claims, rarely analyse the numbers other than cursory reporting in typical 2-dimensional journalistic fashion. These numbers can be deconstructed as I found in these interesting articles and blogs.

So, as we from the chart above, medium family income vs. average family size. What is important here is that even with stagnant incomes, declining family size implies greater income per capita within families. Most importantly, people have chosen over time to live in smaller families, whether its through divorce, never marrying or elderly parents living on their own instead of with children, leading to a decline in average family size from 3.18 to 2.57, a decrease of 18%. During the same period, median family income increased by 31%. This kind of data leads a reasonable person to conclude that standards of living during this period must have risen.

Furthermore, class warfare warriors drone that the poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer....
First, we can easily dismiss the notion that the poor are getting poorer. All the Census Bureau tells us is that the share of the pie consumed by the poor has been shrinking (to 3.4% in 2006 from 4.1% in 1970). But the "pie" has grown enormously. This year's real GDP of $14 trillion is three times that of 1970. So the absolute size of the slice received by the bottom 20% has increased to $476 billion from $181 billion. Allowing for population growth shows that the average income of people at the bottom of the income distribution has risen 36%.
The poor are not getting rich, but they are definitely not experiencing declining living standards. Now, I do not argue that even this data is conclusive since data is not provided within income groups and there can be some data that does not support an argument that things aren't as bad as leftists and socialist Democrats argue it is. However, it is clear that if there isn't enough data to support my argument, there isn't enough data to support their conclusions either!

Someone Didn't Paid Off Enough...

"Lust Caution," the slow moving sexually charged sensation directed by Ang Lee, caused quite a bit of consternation by PRC officials not by its political message but its sexual content.

Further to that, they are now trying to ban people involved in the movie from participating in entertainment in the PRC...
In a statement dated March 7, titled "Reassertion of Censorship Guidelines," SARFT said it had informed all major film and broadcast entities and governing bodies that it was renewing prohibitions on "lewd and pornographic content" and content that "show promiscuous acts, rape, prostitution, sexual intercourse, sexual perversity, masturbation and male/female sexual organs and other private parts." However, the public notice, posted on SARFT's Web site, did not specifically mention "Lust" or Tang.

In addition, all awards shows in China were advised to exclude Tang and the producers of "Lust, Caution" from their list of guests, while discussions about the film and Tang on online forums were deleted, Hong Kong newspaper Oriental Daily reported Friday.
How unbelievably shallow and trite the commies are these days. Are they actually wasting their time on this stuff? Trying in typical Maoist fashion of stamping out everything associated with this case. Why bother? Maybe they have to keep proving that they are in control and feel the need to behave like this against a silly movie and the people involved in its production. Maybe they expected to get more bribes then they received. Or maybe they actually feel compelled to attack this kind of entertainment but I just cannot understand this kind of juvenile behavior since the movie wasn't that good but the story was somewhat visually interesting despite its plodding tempo. they could better spend their time on other immoral activities like KTV instead of a simple movie.

Its Not Your Father's Democratic Party....

Who wrote this?
Nearly 16 years ago in these very pages, I wrote that "'one-size-fits all' rules for business ignore the reality of the market place." Today I'm watching some broad rules evolve on individual decisions that are even worse.

Under the guise of protecting us from ourselves, the right and the left are becoming ever more aggressive in regulating behavior. Much paternalist scrutiny has recently centered on personal economics, including calls to regulate subprime mortgages.....

Health-care paternalism creates another problem that's rarely mentioned: Many people can't afford the gold-plated health plans that are the only options available in their states.

Buying health insurance on the Internet and across state lines, where less expensive plans may be available, is prohibited by many state insurance commissions. Despite being able to buy car or home insurance with a mouse click, some state governments require their approved plans for purchase or none at all. It's as if states dictated that you had to buy a Mercedes or no car at all.

Economic paternalism takes its newest form with the campaign against short-term small loans, commonly known as "payday lending.".....

The nature of freedom of choice is that some people will misuse their responsibility and hurt themselves in the process. We should do our best to educate them, but without diminishing choice for everyone else.
Wow. I was shocked to read this, not because what was said, but who said it.

So, who wrote this piece? Drum roll please......................
George McGovern
My respect for him just went up several notches. And I love the title to this piece...
Freedom Means Responsibility
This fellow would make a good Republican. He is an old Democrat, although painted by the Vietnam era brush of pacifism, seems to fully understand what being an American is all about. Today's Democrats, more like European amoral socialists, are perversely trying to transform my nation into a useless community where we spend our whole lives, comforted by the nanny state, gently sliding and preparing to die.

Freedom of choice and the freedom to make bad or not so good choices is a foundation issue of American life. Why should we have the freedom to make poor choices? Because what was a poor choice today may not be a poor choice tomorrow. Also, who is capable of deciding what is a poor choice and what is a good choice? And one choice for one person may be a poor choice while that same choice may be appropriate for another. It doesn't seem smart to reduce choice for people.

More ammunition For You Class Warfare Warriors....

Ok, listen to the Dems these days, and one hears all kind of bloviating about the middle class and the tough times that they are having, the Bush tax cuts, blah, blah, blah. And what evidence do we have on this? Lets look at some of the middle quintile info available to us....

So, with the above we see that in fact, after tax inflation adjusted income has risen and their actual tax rate has consistently fallen since 1983, the past 25 years. And we can also see this....

Also, that tax rates have been falling for mostly middle and low income people. This one is a little misleading since the bottom 2 quintiles pay almost no taxes at all and therefore cutting taxes for them is kind of a silly notion.

So all of you that want to raise taxes on the "rich" go stuff it in your butt. Some of us are just sick of your lunacy.

For Class Warfare People....

For all you socialists and Democrats that bleat incessantly about the Bush tax cuts unfairness and of that other unsupported drivel that I have heard derivatives of for decades, have a look at the above chart. As we can see, that the top 25% of earners paid 86% of all Federal income taxes. That means that the bottom 75% paid only 14% of all income taxes but it also important to note, that few mention, that these figures always exclude the deadweight and unrecoverable taxes paid as FICA, also known as Social Security, a program that will bury the United States in around 20 years. Also, I think that all Americans should pay taxes to their government, so I do not like this level of progressivity.

But more importantly, for all of those that are talking about income disparities, when one looks at the topline number, one is not looking a the full picture. Beside migration between groups from year-to-year or over longer periods of time, one also must look at thing other than the top line revenue number as reported by individuals on their tax returns, as written in an opinion piece in the unrepentantly anti-Bush and uber-liberal New York Times...
The top fifth of American households earned an average of $149,963 a year in 2006. As shown in the first accompanying chart, they spent $69,863 on food, clothing, shelter, utilities, transportation, health care and other categories of consumption. The rest of their income went largely to taxes and savings.

The bottom fifth earned just $9,974, but spent nearly twice that — an average of $18,153 a year. How is that possible? A look at the far right-hand column of the consumption chart, labeled “financial flows,” shows why: those lower-income families have access to various sources of spending money that doesn’t fall under taxable income. These sources include portions of sales of property like homes and cars and securities that are not subject to capital gains taxes, insurance policies redeemed, or the drawing down of bank accounts. While some of these families are mired in poverty, many (the exact proportion is unclear) are headed by retirees and those temporarily between jobs, and thus their low income total doesn’t accurately reflect their long-term financial status.

So, bearing this in mind, if we compare the incomes of the top and bottom fifths, we see a ratio of 15 to 1. If we turn to consumption, the gap declines to around 4 to 1.
So things may not be as bad as the shrill left makes it out to be. So, the higher paid tax filers that consume less than they spend save for the day when they don;t make as much so that they can continue to consume during these lean years.

Also, a note for all of you that are worried about the state of the US economy. I think that consumption that accounts for around 70% of GDP in recent years up from 60% of GDP in 1980 is destined to drop to around 65% of GDP. Before all of you that are so worried about the middle class, think of these 2006 GDP numbers....
$13.2 trillion x 5%= $651 billion
So, if consumption drops by 5%, this is approximately $650 billion. If one looks at the current account deficit of nearly $800 billion, then one has to see that such a large number, around 7% of GDP is unsustainable. So, the current account deficit is this...
Current account=net balance of trade + net income from investments + net transfers payments received (such as foreign aid)
So, by lowering consumption, less goods will be imported. The theory is that foreign economies may not slow as much as the US and therefore the trade balance may fall. But most importantly, by lowering consumption, savings are increased by a like amount. So that the savings deficit by Americans is eliminated. A much healthier longer term situation. Also, keep in mind, that this shift from consumption to savings will be over a period of years not immediately.

If this post is confusing, it is.

Obamania....

Obama? He is just McGovern lite. Remember that in 1972, McGovern took only 17 electoral votes, Massachusetts and Washington, DC. McGovern was actually an accomplished senator at the time that he ran for President. Despite his reputation as a dovish liberal, McGovern has publicly stated he is not a pacifist. But do not tell that to the more centrist Democrats that became the core of the Reagan democrats also known as Neo-cons.

What the heck does Obama have to show besides an ability to speak and being half black?

And for all of you that read today's newspapers and have no idea what neoconservatives are all about....
Academics in these circles, many of whom were still Democrats, rebelled against the Democratic Party's leftward drift on defense issues in the 1970s, especially after the nomination of George McGovern in 1972. Many of their concerns were voiced in the influential 1970 bestseller The Real Majority by future television commentator and neo-conservative Ben Wattenberg. Many clustered around Sen. Henry "Scoop" Jackson, a Democrat derisively known as the "Senator from Boeing," during his 1972 and 1976 campaigns for President; but later came to align themselves with Ronald Reagan and the Republicans, who promised to confront charges of Soviet "expansionism." Among those who worked for Jackson are Paul Wolfowitz, Doug Feith, Richard Perle and Felix Rohatyn.

Michael Lind, a self-described former neoconservative, wrote that neoconservatism "originated in the 1970s as a movement of anti-Soviet liberals and social democrats in the tradition of Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Humphrey and Henry ("Scoop") Jackson, many of whom preferred to call themselves 'paleoliberals.' When the Cold War ended, "many 'paleoliberals' drifted back to the Democratic center… Today's neocons are a shrunken remnant of the original broad neocon coalition. Nevertheless, the origins of their ideology on the left are still apparent. The fact that most of the younger neocons were never on the left is irrelevant; they are the intellectual (and, in the case of William Kristol and John Podhoretz, the literal) heirs of older ex-leftists."
Today's Democrats are no longer the Democrats of your father's era, where America was put first, but an amalgam of handout mongers and lazy liberals looking for their next easy reason to exist. Can anyone say global warming? Just being against George Bush does not make a political party.

Seems Reasonable.....

But what about the anus? I guess that is ok.
